Kalipayan

Kalipayan, the Happy Wall, is the gentle house reef off Alona Beach and one of the most accessible sites on Panglao, reachable by a short boat hop or even a swim from shore. The reef starts in a sandy shallows around 3-5 m and rolls over a coral-draped vertical wall down to about 22-25 m, dressed in soft corals, sea fans and small coral heads before sloping into sand. Calm and almost current-free, it is ideal for new divers, training and relaxed night dives. Macro hunters love it: seahorses, dragon seamoth, ghost pipefish, wonderpus, flamboyant cuttlefish and clouds of nudibranchs hide along the wall. On deeper profiles a disintegrated wooden bangka rests on the sand near 32-33 m.
