Kirby's Rock

A pair of coral-crusted boulders rising off Caban Island's shore, Kirby's Rock packs an outsized share of Anilao's famous macro life onto one site. Drop past gorgonian- and crinoid-draped walls to the deep boulder where yellow sea cucumbers carpet the rock in their thousands — a spectacle divers routinely mistake for a nudibranch swarm. Golden pygmy seahorses cling to sea fans, painted and black-and-white frogfish lurk against sponges, and morays peer from every crevice. Currents are tide-driven and can swing direction mid-dive, so timing with a local guide makes this rewarding for every level.
