Diving Services

Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is a diver's paradise, home to a PADI Five-Star IDC (Instructor Development Centre) / Career Development Centre. A multilingual team of expert instructors offers tailored programs for all abilities, from beginner experiences like Bubblemaker (for children aged 8-12) and Discover Scuba Diving (for those 10 and older) to full PADI Open Water certification and specialty courses. Specialty courses include deep diver, drift diver, night diver, and underwater naturalist diver, among many others. Daily two-tank morning dives and one-tank afternoon dives are available, along with sunrise and night dives on request. An orientation dive in the lagoon is required for divers who haven't dived in the last three months or have fewer than 30 logged dives.

The water temperature in Baa Atoll typically ranges from 27-31.5°C (81.7-88.7°F), with visibility often between 10-25+ meters (32.8-82+ feet). Currents can vary from mild in the lagoon to strong in channels, offering diverse diving experiences. The Baa Atoll is renowned for its thilas (submerged pinnacles), reefs, and channels teeming with marine life, including grey reef sharks, eagle rays, barracudas, and a myriad of reef fish.

Just minutes away by speedboat, Hanifaru Bay is a world-famous seasonal aggregation site for manta rays and whale sharks. During the southwest monsoon season, typically from May to November, plankton blooms attract hundreds of manta rays and occasionally whale sharks to this funnel-shaped bay, creating an incredible feeding spectacle. While diving is prohibited inside Hanifaru Bay to protect the marine life, guests can enjoy unforgettable snorkeling experiences with these gentle giants. Other notable dive sites in the Baa Atoll include Dhonfanu Thila, known for its swim-throughs and diverse fish life, and Nelivaru Haa, an underwater mountain with colorful corals.
