Guided Diving Experiences & Dive Sites

Big Blue Dahab offers daily guided fun dives for certified divers, exploring Dahab's rich marine life in small, relaxed groups with experienced dive professionals. Dahab is renowned for its predominantly shore-based diving, offering easy and convenient entry and exit points, making it an excellent location for all levels of divers. The dive center provides access to a multitude of world-famous dive sites, accessible by pickup, and for more remote locations, by camel or boat.

Popular dive sites include:

  • Lighthouse: Considered Dahab's house reef, this popular training site offers calm conditions, making it perfect for beginners, refreshers, and night dives. It features a beautiful reef with pinnacles, corals, and a variety of reef fish.
  • The Blue Hole: World-famous for its dramatic vertical drop and deep blue chamber, descending over 100 meters. While its "Arch" at 56 meters is reserved for experienced technical divers, recreational divers can safely explore its upper sections. It's often dived as a drift from The Bells.
  • The Bells: A spectacular dive starting with a vertical entry through a natural crack in the reef, leading to a stunning wall and a drift dive towards the Blue Hole exit. The chimney-like descent opens out onto a sheer rock wall at approximately 28 to 30 m.
  • The Canyon: A spectacular deep dive into an open crack in the ground, leading down to 30 meters, with a narrow passage for deep or technical divers. It starts with a shallow swim through a lagoon to a beautiful coral garden.
  • Three Pools: A scenic and shallow site with three connected sandy lagoons and vibrant coral gardens, ideal for beginners, snorkelers, and relaxed, photo-friendly dives.
  • The Islands: Famous for its maze of coral formations and clear lagoons, suitable for photographers and advanced divers.
  • Eel Garden: Known for its colony of garden eels, offering great visibility and sandy slopes.
  • Moray Garden: A colorful reef with sloping corals and sandy patches, home to moray eels, turtles, and macro life.
  • Abu Galum: A remote and protected reserve accessible by camel or boat, offering pristine reefs and adventurous diving.
  • Caves: Features beautiful overhangs and light effects, an easy and scenic dive.

Dahab's diving conditions are excellent year-round, with consistently good visibility of 30-40 meters, sometimes reaching up to 60 meters. Water temperature ranges from a mild 20°C in winter (January-February) to a delightful 29°C in summer (August-September). The Red Sea's volcanic activity and high salinity contribute to unique landscapes filled with diverse fish and coral species, including octopus, lionfish, tuna, pufferfish, snapper, wrasse, turtles, seahorses, barracuda, and occasional manta rays or whale sharks.

Big Blue Dahab is fully stocked with the latest, high-quality scuba equipment, which is regularly upgraded and meticulously maintained to ensure safety and enjoyment.
