The historical Diveity minimum of 5 m was imported with the former location; the original seed row carried no depth field citation. Pandan lists Shark Ridge on the northeast reef at 10–50 m. Its Shark Ridge paragraph is also repeated under San Antonio Wreck, so this is a qualified operator report, not an independently verified endpoint or a dive plan. Different route extents may explain differing ranges.

Dive The World describes a 15–30 m slope but places Shark Ridge northwest near an islet and lighthouse. That location conflicts with the northeast park-map point used for this guide. The site or route identity is unresolved; do not apply its depth range to the displayed approximate point as verified fact.

Shark Ridge is a named dive site in Apo Reef Natural Park, off Occidental Mindoro. The park-office map reproduced in the 2014 Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Foundation assessment marks it on the northeast reef. Pandan Island Dive Resort also describes Shark Ridge on that side of the reef, with a drop-off and overhangs.
Location corrected from the historical Apo Island point (12.6617, 120.4144), about 10.22 km southwest of the named Shark Ridge point on the park map. The map and Pandan place Shark Ridge on the northeast reef; the former northwest/lighthouse description conflicts with those sources. The displayed point is approximate and is not a surveyed entry or navigation waypoint. Other depth, visibility, current, season and wildlife details are historical guide information, not revalidated by this location review. Apo Reef Natural Park is distinct from Apo Island Marine Sanctuary in Negros Oriental.
The historical park map gives a source-specific location, not a current dive plan. Its coordinate datum is not established in this review. A similarly named OpenStreetMap point closely matches it, but the independence of those map sources is unconfirmed.
Confirm the intended site, current conditions, depth plan and entry arrangements with a local operator. Retained wildlife information describes reported possibilities and does not guarantee a sighting. The source history and remaining uncertainty are part of this guide.
How the sources describe the ridge
Pandan Island Dive Resort's current dive-site page lists Shark Ridge at 10 to 50 m and says the whole north-east side of Apo Reef consists of a sheer drop with many overhangs, where whitetip and grey reef sharks are a common sight along with turtles, barracudas and schools of snappers. The same sentence appears word for word under its San Antonio Wreck entry. Asian Diver's seven-site feature, from its 2018 issue and republished by uw360.asia on 8 July 2022, also puts Shark Ridge on the north-east side of the reef and describes a plateau flattened by strong open-ocean currents dropping into a wall carpeted with massive gorgonian fans where sweetlips and schools of tuna were sighted.
A Marco Vincent Divers page archived by the Wayback Machine on 28 October 2016 gives 10 ft to over 200 ft, with shallows from 10 ft before the wall drops very deep, sand channels along the wall, coral outcroppings covered in gorgonian fans, staghorn gardens, and whitetips along the wall with jacks and tuna off in the blue. Diver Bliss (May 2019, updated July 2026) and Mabuhay Travel reprint that text, and Gustav's Place's current page gives 10 to 35 m with the same species list, so those four pages count as one lineage.
Where other guides place it
Placement is disputed. The DENR Protected Area Office dive-site list reproduced as Figure 14 of the 2014 MBCFI Ecotourism Plan carries Shark Ridge as site 13 at 120°29'14.7" E, 12°43'11.3" N, on the north-east reef. Underwater Asia's undated guide puts Shark Ridge on the east side of Apo Reef, sloping to around 25 m, with blacktip and whitetip reef sharks and manta rays often cruising. Dive The World's undated page instead describes a sloping reef with sandy patches at 15 to 30 m on the north-western edge of the main plateau, and Liveaboard.com's page applies the name to the north-east walls of Apo Island. Casalay's blog of October 2024 adds slopes, ridges and rocky outcroppings with blacktip and whitetip reef sharks and rates it an advanced dive because of strong currents. None of these is reconciled here.
