About This Dive Site
Easy Diving describes Ayers Rock as a submerged reef rising from deeper water, with a reported depth range of 18–35 metres. Artistic Diving also describes a freestanding reef. Wildlife mentions in older accounts are not recent sightings.
This is a partial site guide based on retained dive listings. Conditions, access, seasonal suitability and current operating arrangements have not been checked by a local diver. The map position comes from a published dive-site dataset and should be confirmed with a local operator before planning a visit.

Reef ridges and smaller subjects
Sea Explorers describes hard and soft corals across reef ridges, with sandy sections between them. Its account identifies the shallower parts as places to look for nudibranchs, shrimps and other small reef animals. These are operator-reported subjects, not confirmed current sightings, and the account does not resolve the site’s depth range.
How the operators describe the formation
Easy Diving's dive-sites page, archived in April 2014 and again in May 2025, lists Ayers Rock under its "Sunken Islands" heading and calls it a "fantastic sunken island with wonderful corals and plenty of fish at 18 to 35 meters depths"; the same page's depth chart gives "Up to 35m". Artistic Diving's 2009 English list repeats that wording, which is why the two operators are treated as one shared source family for this entry.
Artistic Diving's own prose, archived in October 2019 and unchanged in August 2020, describes "a reef like the Ayersrock in Australia", "beautifully freestanding", with the reef roof at 18 metres and "the original hammer and anvil at a depth of 30 meters". It says divers with sufficient air can finish the dive by moving across to Manta Drop and ascending to 5 metres, "otherwise you emerge in the open water". Artistic's 2009 German list carries the same hammer-and-anvil and 18-metre reef-top details. Takatuka Divers' archived July 2008 dive-site list, from a separate operator, says "the sunken island reminds on the Ayers Rock in australia" and gives "18 bis 35 meters". The hammer and anvil are reported objects on the reef, not a surveyed feature, and no source explains them.
Reported wildlife and directory notes
Artistic Diving's 2019 page says Napoleon fish and turtles "regularly pass the reef" and, in its introduction, recalls dolphins at Ayersrock; the 2009 German list mentions turtles. Sea Explorers' page, dated July 2026, says the deeper areas "may attract larger marine life". These are operator statements across different years, not current sighting records, and no encounter rate can be inferred from them. Zentacle's directory record, which supplies this pin's coordinates, grades the site intermediate and lists a maximum depth of 59.1 feet, about 18 metres; that figure matches the operators' reef-top depth rather than their 35-metre maximum, and its "accessible from shore" wording is boilerplate shared with other Sipalay entries. Not reconciled here.
