About This Dive Site
Big Rock is listed as a Davao-area dive site in a South Shore Divers contribution to PADI. This partial guide uses the site name and map position from that source. The location has not been independently confirmed by a local diver.

What the single listing says
PADI's entry, credited to South Shore Divers and read in October 2026, describes a giant underwater boulder formation whose crevices and swim-throughs divers can explore, with schools of fish, octopuses and other sea creatures. Like several Samal entries from the same contributor, it is internally inconsistent on depth: the narrative gives 30 metres and calls the site suitable for advanced divers, while the maximum-depth field gives 18 metres and the useful-training field lists PADI Open Water Diver. It says access is by boat and that the site is often combined with neighbouring dive sites for a full day of diving. Its map point (7.18240, 125.75131) sits close to the same contributor's point for Pinnacle Point (7.17406, 125.75303). No second source describing this Big Rock was found, so the listing stands alone and nothing in it is verified here.
A second description, derived from the same listing
The DivePlanner Pro aggregator, read on 8 October 2026, describes Big Rock as "a beginner-friendly dive site in the Davao Gulf" and lists its depth as 18 m, its difficulty as Beginner and its topography as reef. Its text refers to "a prominent underwater rock formation at eighteen meters depth", and says the shallow depth gives "excellent light penetration and generous bottom times". The 18 m figure matches the maximum-depth field of the PADI entry, so the page appears to build on that listing and is treated as derivative rather than a second witness.
The two descriptions disagree on suitability: PADI's narrative calls the site suitable for advanced divers at 30 metres, while DivePlanner Pro rates it Beginner and "suitable for all levels". Neither is reconciled here, and neither states who dives the site or the current conditions.
