Clara Reef

Archived accounts describe a freestanding reef on the route toward Hinoba-an, beginning around 11 metres. Easy Diving gives a 30-metre maximum, while Artistic Diving reports 38 metres. The maximum remains disputed.

What the archived listings say

Sipalay Easy Diving & Beach Resort's dive-site page, in a Wayback Machine snapshot of 29 May 2025, says "The reef starts at 11 down to 30 meters on a exiting slightly dropping wall." It adds "Plenty of Butterfly Fish among others and with the best chance of good visibility." Artistic Diving's English page, in a snapshot of 21 October 2019, calls Clara reef "a freestanding reef towards Hinoba-an" that starts at 11 meters and drops to 38 meters, with "Alot butterfly fish and often a very good view", and gives the journey time as 50 minutes. The two operators belong to one shared historical source family, so they are one lineage and their agreement on butterflyfish is not independent confirmation.

Directory record

Zentacle's directory entry, retrieved 8 October 2026, lists Clara Reef as beginner, with access by boat and a maximum depth of 32.8 ft. It describes "An interesting, little slope reef wall" where "You will see many Batfishes. Most of the time nice visibility." The directory names batfish where the operators name butterflyfish, and it gives a shallower maximum than either operator. This guide does not decide which description is right.

What remains open

The 30 metre and 38 metre maximums and the directory's 32.8 ft figure are all stated by different organisations and are not reconciled here. Current, entry arrangements, seasonal conditions and the present state of the reef are not described in these sources.
