About This Dive Site

Diniwid is a named dive site in the Boracay area of Aklan, listed by Eclipse Dive Center and Wicked Squid Divers. This partial guide uses the named Zentacle map point.

Location uncertainty: this guide follows the approximate Zentacle point named Diniwid. Another dive-site directory places Diniwid about 574 m away. The reason for this disagreement is unresolved. Neither point has been surveyed or verified by a local diver for this guide; they have not been averaged or treated as two separate sites. This marker is not a confirmed entry or navigation waypoint.

Entry arrangements are unconfirmed: the directory description says shore access while its access field says boat. Depth, currents, visibility, seasonal conditions and diver suitability remain unknown here. Confirm the intended site and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.

What operators publish about Diniwid

WaterColors Boracay's site list gives Diniwid a starting depth of 10 metres and a maximum of 22 metres, Open Water as the minimum level, 15 minutes from Station 3 and 10 from Station 1, and flags timing for tide and current. It calls the site good for drift diving and describes a sloping bottom with big table corals, chances to see green turtles and blue-spotted stingrays, triggerfish, squat shrimp and commensal shrimps and crabs on bubble corals, and giant trevallies sighted occasionally. Wicked Squid Divers' page, in a Wayback snapshot of March 2026, says Balinghai Wall and Diniwid get an easy current that allows gentle to strong drift dives suited to beginners and training. New Wave Divers' article of 11 October 2024 calls Diniwid a lesser-known site close to shore with shallow coral gardens for training and steeper walls in the deeper areas, and reports groupers, trevallies, eagle rays, nudibranchs, shrimps, ghost pipefish, frogfish and turtles, plus night dives with octopus and cuttlefish; it gives no depth figures.

Dated visitor accounts

The Solitary Wanderer blog post of 28 March 2019 describes Diniwid Reef as about a 10-minute boat ride from Station 1, a dive with Free Willy Diving to 18 metres for 46 minutes in good visibility and mild current, four hawksbill turtles plus a frogfish, lionfish, stonefish and clownfish, and the writer's view that the corals were not as good as at other sites. A Deepblu log by a PADI instructor dated 1 October 2017 records a boat-entry fun dive to 19.2 metres for 37 minutes with no current and 20 metre visibility. Two scubadiving.place reviews record 17 metres and 25 metres, the deeper one listing lobster, clownfish and triggerfish, and the directory tags the site as a drift dive with an average depth of 21 metres. Zentacle's listing, by contrast, shows a maximum depth of 32.8 feet, about 10 metres, and an intermediate rating. The 10–22 metre operator range, the 17–25 metre logged depths and Zentacle's 10 metre figure are recorded here without reconciliation, as is the shore-versus-boat access question already noted above.
