About This Dive Site
Marina Point is named in an Atmosphere Resorts account of a 2024 photography workshop, separately from Masaplod North and Atmosphere North. A separate Uncovery.net photographer entry records a Marina Point dive in Dauin on 12 April 2024. These dated accounts support the site name without establishing current conditions.
REEF also lists a Dauin survey location called Marina under code 72050124. Whether that record refers to the same site as Marina Point remains unconfirmed. This guide uses Marina Point from the dated dive accounts and does not create an additional Marina guide. Exact site boundaries and present access remain unresolved.
Location unresolved: The exact dive-site position has not been established for this partial guide. It has no map marker or navigation point.
Depth, current strength, visibility, seasonal conditions, entry arrangements and diver suitability remain unknown in this partial guide. Confirm the intended site and current access with a local operator before planning a dive. No local-diver verification has been recorded.
Dated dive accounts from 2024
Bluewater Dive Travel's Dumaguete trip report published on 30 July 2024 describes a first day of muck diving at Masaplod North, Marina Point and Atmosphere North from Atmosphere's outrigger dive vessels, with Masaplod North reached within ten minutes of motoring. It calls the second dive at Marina Point the highlight of the day because the group saw Coleman shrimp, which it describes as symbionts living on the backs of colourful fire urchins, including juvenile shrimp living with the pairs. Atmosphere Resorts' own post of 11 August 2024 about the same workshop repeats that Coleman shrimp on fire urchins were spotted at Marina Point. These two accounts come from one trip and count as a single lineage. An Uncovery.net photographer's entry for a Dauin dive on 12 April 2024 at Marina Point records, by photo caption, sea star shrimp, several nudibranchs including Halgerda batangas and Nembrotha kubaryana, hairy squat lobster, peacock mantis shrimp, striped catfish, broadclub cuttlefish, Sarasvati anemone shrimp, tasselled scorpionfish, whip coral shrimp, squat lobsters and a snowflake moray. These are subjects photographed on one dated visit, not a species list for the site.
What remains unknown
REEF's geographic zone listing for Dauin, captured on 7 October 2026, shows a location called Marina under code 72050124 immediately before Bulak at 72050125; whether Marina and Marina Point are one site is still unconfirmed. Neither 2024 account gives a depth, a current description or an entry point for Marina Point, and the Bluewater report's water temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit was recorded at Masaplod North, not here. The reviewed sources support Marina Point as a Dauin muck-diving site visited by boat from Atmosphere, and nothing more precise; the location remains unresolved.
