About This Dive Site
North Wall is a historical dive-site name on an archived Marco Vincent Divers page about Apo Reef off Occidental Mindoro. Its named section describes a reef top with hard corals, sandy channels and gullies. This is an attributed historical description, not a report of current reef condition.
This partial guide preserves the Apo Reef name without claiming a separately surveyed reef. The exact position, boundaries and possible overlap with Ego Wall or other neighbouring dives remain unconfirmed. It does not establish an alias. Material about the similarly named North Wall or Corner at Pandan Island has not been applied here; Apo Reef is also distinct from Apo Island near Negros Oriental.
No coordinates are supplied. Current access, entry arrangements, depth, visibility, currents, seasonal conditions and diver suitability remain unknown here. Historical wildlife descriptions are not treated as verified present-day sightings.
Location unresolved: No source-backed site coordinate has been established for this historical North Wall name at Apo Reef. This partial guide has no map marker or navigation point.
The archived Marco Vincent description
The Marco Vincent Divers page captured by the Wayback Machine on 28 October 2016 gives North Wall a range of 20 ft to over 200 ft and says that when the current is moving it is one of the best dives on Apo Reef. Beyond the hard-coral top with sand channels and gullies, the page describes grey reef sharks up to seven feet long, whitetip sharks hunting in packs at the edge of the reef, a possible hammerhead for the lucky, large dogtooth tuna and giant trevally higher in the water column, and schools of jacks, bumphead parrotfish and hawksbill turtles. Diver Bliss (May 2019, updated July 2026) and Mabuhay Travel reprint that text and Diver Bliss cites mvdive.com as its source, so the three pages are one lineage.
Other pages using the name
Dive The World's undated Apo Reef page lists a North Wall among its Apo Island dives. It describes the boat stopping where the reef almost breaks the surface and surge causes white water, divers rolling in and sinking to the end of the reef, which drops into the abyss, damselfish, butterflyfish, batfish and surgeonfish in the shallows, fusiliers near the top of the wall, and deeper water that improves the chance of threshers and hammerheads, the latter said to be likelier from November to March when the water is cooler. ZuBlu's current destination guide names North Wall, Shark Ridge and Binangaan Drop-off as notable outer-wall sites, each off a different island. Asian Diver's 2018 feature describes a site called Apo Island North as a dramatic deep wall with massive tube corals, lobsters, hawksbill turtles, yellow sweetlips, grey reef sharks at the edge and hammerheads sighted between December and March, while SSI's MyDiveGuide uses the name Apo Island - North (Ego Wall); whether any of those is the same place as Marco Vincent's North Wall is not established here.
What the park record shows
The DENR Protected Area Office dive-site list reproduced in the 2014 MBCFI Ecotourism Plan has no entry named North Wall, and the Pandan Island Dive Resort page that describes a North Wall at 7 to 35 m refers to Pandan Island itself, not Apo Reef. The accounts above remain dated descriptions from two lineages, and this guide still supplies no coordinate.
