What the sources say about Pindawon Wall
PADI's dive-site page for Pindawon Wall, fetched in October 2026, describes "a deep underwater wall covered in colorful corals and sponges" whose "nooks and crannies" may hold "reef sharks, octopuses, and schools of fish". It gives a maximum depth of 40 meters, says the site is "suitable for advanced divers" and recommends diving "with a guide due to strong currents". The page names PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Deep Diver as useful training, lists the dive types as wall and ocean, and suggests a dive computer and surface marker buoy. Its description says the site "is accessible by boat" while its entry field reads "Shore"; the two statements are not reconciled here. The listed position is 6.96418, 125.79560, the point this guide uses.
Asia Dive Site's Samal Island page, undated, is the most descriptive independent account: "Off the east coast, the most spectacular site is Pindawon Wall. Here, the overhangs house gorgonians and black corals with fish life including snapper, grouper and sea snakes." It continues, "Both Pindawon and Aundanao, slightly to the north, are marine sanctuaries where there is every chance of seeing turtles." The sanctuary status is that page's statement and has not been checked against a local ordinance in this review. The same page gives Samal-wide figures of 5-35 m depth, visibility up to 20 m or more, currents from moderate to very strong, a boat ride of 1 to 1.5 hours and best months of November to May; these are island-wide, not Pindawon figures. Islands Philippines reproduces the paragraph word for word, so it is the same lineage rather than a second witness.
SunStar Davao's report of June 5, 2022 on the Samal Dive Festival stated that "Samal Island has 25 diving sites" and listed Pindawon Wall third, after Ligid Caves and Pinnacle Point. The DivePlanner Pro aggregator page repeats the forty-meter figure and calls the site "an advanced dive site in the Davao Gulf", but its text mirrors PADI's data and is treated here as derivative rather than independent. No dated trip report from a named diver at Pindawon Wall was found in this review, so the wall profile, the strength of the current and any sanctuary fee remain to be confirmed with a Davao or Samal operator.
