About This Dive Site
Santa Maria is a dive site shown on Sunset Cove Beach & Dive Resort’s map of the Romblon area. This partial guide uses the site name and position from that map. The location has not been independently confirmed by a local diver.
This guide uses the dive-site name shown on the operator’s map. Nearby names may refer to overlapping reef areas; their boundaries and relationships remain unconfirmed.
Current access, entry arrangements, depth limits, currents, visibility and seasonal conditions remain unconfirmed for this record. The operator’s training labels do not establish safe conditions for a particular dive. Confirm the exact site and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.
What the Sunset Cove table lists
Sunset Cove Beach & Dive Resort's dive-sites page, read on October 8, 2026, lists Santa Maria as number 9 of its 22 Romblon dive sites, with a depth figure of 6–15m and an Open Water badge. That column is headed Max Depth yet shows a range, so this guide treats the figure as the operator's listed depth band, not a measured site profile. The same page says all 22 sites are reached by banca directly from the resort's beach on Alad Island, most within a 5 to 30-minute boat ride, and that the dives are led by its SDI-certified guides; it gives no ride time, entry point or route for Santa Maria itself.
A dated visit record
PSC Diving's Japanese-language blog published the dive list of a July 2019 Romblon trip whose itinerary includes Sunset Cove House Reef. It names Santa Maria as the third dive on July 5, 2019 and again as a night dive on July 6, 2019. The list gives names only and attaches no depth, route or sightings to those dives, so this guide takes from it just that the name was in use for a guided day dive and a night dive in July 2019. No other captured source names Santa Maria, and the Undercurrent reader review that a search snippet linked to this site could not be retrieved for checking.
The resort's species encyclopedia
Sunset Cove's online marine life encyclopedia entry for the ghost nudibranch Melibe colemani, fetched on 8 October 2026, has a "Dive Sites" line naming Canyon 1, Paluksuhan and Santa Maria. The entry rates the species as rare and says the resort's guides find it on sandy and rubble substrate at 5 to 25 metres depth. That depth range is stated for the species at the resort's dive sites in general, not for Santa Maria. The page does not say how often the species has been seen at Santa Maria, how deep Santa Maria is, or which of the three listed sites suits it best.
