About This Dive Site
Seahorse Hotel is a dive site shown on Sunset Cove Beach & Dive Resort’s map of the Romblon area. This partial guide uses the site name and position from that map. The location has not been independently confirmed by a local diver.
This guide uses the dive-site name shown on the operator’s map. Nearby names may refer to overlapping reef areas; their boundaries and relationships remain unconfirmed.
Current access, entry arrangements, depth limits, currents, visibility and seasonal conditions remain unconfirmed for this record. The operator’s training labels do not establish safe conditions for a particular dive. Confirm the exact site and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.
Sunset Cove also mentions pygmy seahorses at Seahorse Hotel. This is a general operator report, not a species identification or a recent sighting record. The exact seahorse species, encounter frequency and seasonal pattern remain unconfirmed; sightings are not guaranteed.
What the operator publishes
Sunset Cove Beach & Dive Resort's dive-sites page, captured on 8 October 2026, lists Seahorse Hotel as number 15 of its 22 Romblon dive sites. The table gives '6–25m' in a column headed 'Max Depth', so the figure is the operator's published range rather than a single measured maximum, and the level badge reads 'Open Water'. The same figures appear in the page's embedded map data. A Wayback Machine snapshot of the page dated 19 May 2026 carries the same name, range and level, so the entry has been stable for at least that period.
The page says all 22 sites are accessible by banca directly from Sunset Cove and that most sites are a 5 to 30-minute boat ride from the resort's private beach on Alad Island; it does not publish a boat time for Seahorse Hotel specifically. It describes the guides as SDI-certified.
The seahorse reference
The headline text of the same page offers 'chasing pygmy seahorses at Seahorse Hotel' as one of three examples of what guests may do, alongside the Melibe colemani Ghost Nudibranch and the Blue Hole. Sunset Cove also runs a critter encyclopedia; its public WordPress listing, read on 8 October 2026, tags its 36 species entries to only four dive-site terms, Canyon 1, Canyon 2, Paluksuhan and Santa Maria. No entry, including its Hippocampus bargibanti and Hippocampus denise pages, is tagged to Seahorse Hotel. The seahorse reference therefore remains a general operator statement with no dated, site-tagged observation behind it in the captured material.
Earlier use of the name
A trip blog by PSC Diving, a dive shop in Kyoto, published on 18 July 2019 and modified on 6 December 2019, lists 'Seahorse Hotel' as dive two on 3 July 2019 in its Romblon dive log. The group was hosted by Romblon Fun Divers & Inn in Romblon town. Because Bluewater describes Romblon Fun Divers as Sunset Cove's sister company, this is the same operator lineage rather than independent corroboration; it does show the name in use by July 2019. The blog's photographs and species notes are trip-wide and are not assigned to this dive.
Neighbouring names
In the operator's table the site sits between Logbon Canyon, number 14, and Logbon Ghost Valley, number 16.
The Three P Holiday & Dive Resort, whose diving page was captured on 7 October 2026, names its Logbon Island sites Coral Canyon, Mangroves, Logbon Sanctuary, Sandslope, Toby's Corner, Logbon North and Broken House. X-Ray Mag's article 'Romblon: Mystical Island of Phantoms, Ghosts and Butterflies' by Kate Jonker, whose group stayed at The Three P, uses the same names when it describes revisiting Logbon Sanctuary, Sandslope, Logbon Mangroves and Coral Canyon. None of these sources uses the name Seahorse Hotel, and none is documented as the same stretch; no identity is asserted here.
