About This Dive Site

Seahorse Point, Anda

Seahorse Point is a named Anda dive site on Bohol with a shallow reef top, wall and sandy-slope terrain in Magic Oceans' account. The operator highlights macro photography and reports turtles and small marine life. Use the Anda locality when discussing the site; the name alone does not establish either a location or a seahorse encounter.

Reef top and slope

The operator's PADI contribution places the reef top at about 3 metres and lists a 30-metre maximum. Magic Oceans' site sheet describes slope and wall diving, with 24 metres in its general depth column. That sheet entry is not explicitly a maximum, so it should not be presented as a measured contradiction of the PADI field.

These descriptions suggest different parts of the terrain to discuss in the briefing. Confirm which section is planned and how its depth fits your training and recent experience. A shallow starting point does not establish the suitability of every deeper route.

Reported macro subjects

PADI's named account mentions turtles on the reef top, moray eels, orangutan crabs, nudibranchs and seahorses. The site sheet adds seamoths, fire clams, mantis shrimp and blue-ringed octopus to its reported subjects. These are operator observations and possibilities, not a verified current animal inventory or an encounter forecast.

In a May 2023 Scubaverse feature, Cath Bates names Seahorse Point and Pygmy House in a discussion of pygmy seahorses on sea fans. The feature discusses both sites together; it does not independently document each named seahorse species at each site. Regional night-diving observations elsewhere in the article should not be reassigned to Seahorse Point.

Planning the visit

PADI lists boat entry. The reviewed sources do not establish the exact entry point, boat schedule or current availability of a particular dive. Ask the operator to identify the intended Seahorse Point and explain the route, including whether the focus is reef scenery or a slower search for small subjects.

Reliable visibility, water-temperature extremes, current strength, a site-specific best season and minimum certification remain unverified. Suggested courses and promotional suitability claims are not a substitute for the operator's assessment of your intended dive. The map position is retained from the named source and has not been independently re-surveyed.

Code of conduct and listings

Cath Bates' Scubaverse guest blog of 26 May 2023 says the pygmy seahorses at Seahorse Point and Pygmy House balance delicately on bendy sea fan hosts, that the pink Bargibanti and yellowish Denise are no bigger than 2.7 centimetres, and that they are protected by a Pygmy Seahorse Code of Conduct displayed in good dive centres. It also places Anda's dive sites between 5 and 45 minutes from a resort house reef. Ask the guide how that code is applied before approaching a sea fan here; the blog does not say which species it saw at this site.

PADI's structured listing tags Seahorse Point as drift, reef, wall and ocean diving and calls it one of the operator's most popular dive sites, a promotional ranking rather than a measured one. Scubaverse's July 2025 profile of Magic Oceans Dive Resort lists Seahorse point fourteenth among 27 numbered sites, and the operator's site sheet spells the name Seahourse Point, a variant worth knowing when matching booking lists to this record.
