What the operator lineage says
Shark Apartment was described on the Ticao Island Resort "Dive spots" page archived by the Wayback Machine on 1 December 2010, which listed it under Manta Bowl Shoal at 18 metres. The resort said full-grown whitetip sharks lie among big boulders scattered on the sandy bottom, that reef fish including bannerfish and angelfish hover above, and that the boulders have made the area a paradise for bottom dwellers such as groupers. The Shark Diving Philippines travel page captured in October 2026 and Bicol Dive Center's Manta Bowl page archived on 21 March 2023 both repeat this description and the 18 metre figure almost word for word, so the three are one lineage.
The 2010 resort page described Manta Bowl Shoal as an underwater atoll covering a 7 to 8 hectare flat area in the middle of the ocean, with little protection from wind or waves. The Bicol Dive Center page states that experienced diver certification is required for the shoal and that open water divers with fewer than 20 dives need a personal guide.
A booking directory's version
The Donsol page of Liveaboard.com, captured in October 2026, also lists Shark Apartment at 18 metres in the boulders, where it says a diver will likely encounter full-sized adult whitetip reef sharks along with groupers and reef fish such as angelfish and bannerfish. It adds that the massive boulders were once spewed from volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago, a claim found in no operator source captured here and presented only as that page's statement. The Reefwander directory page captured in October 2026 gives a maximum of 20 metres, labels its position approximate, and cites the Shark Diving Philippines text and an article by Just Gotta Dive that was not retrieved for this guide; its mentions of thresher and bamboo sharks are not adopted here.
Unresolved points
The whitetip sharks are described as resting animals in every version, but no source gives an encounter frequency, visibility, current strength or season for this site. The resort's live site captured in October 2026 names only "Manta Bowl Shoal with 7 different dive sites", 15 to 20 minutes from the resort, without listing them, and the shoal's site count has varied from five on a resort page archived on 18 March 2013 to seven today.
