About This Dive Site

Talisay Wall in Moalboal

Talisay Wall appears in Magic Island’s Moalboal dive-site guide as a combination of slope and wall. Pescador Diving Center describes a site called Talisay with a coral-covered shallow reef and a wall supporting black corals, sea fans and sponges. These named accounts offer an orientation to the dive, while the exact route and boundaries still need confirmation with the operator.

Neptune Diving describes Talisay Point in Basdiot, Moalboal. Similar names are used across local accounts, but this guide does not establish a surveyed boundary or add a verified alias. Confirm that the crew means the same Talisay site. A PADI result titled Talisay Wall is mapped in Mindanao and is excluded from this Moalboal account.

Published depths and the intended route

Magic Island lists Talisay Wall at 5–55 metres. A Divemasters directory profile for Talisay Wall also lists a 55 m maximum, separately from an individual dive logged there on 11 August 2025 to 16.7 metres. The logged depth describes that dive, not the whole site.

Neptune calls 5–15 metres the interesting depth for its Talisay Point offering. That is a suggested area of interest, not a competing measurement of the wall’s deepest extent. The 60 m wall on Pescador Diving Center’s page belongs to its separate Magic Island House Reef section. It should not be assigned to Talisay because it appears nearby on the same page. Published wall depths are not personal dive limits.

Reported reef life

Magic Island mentions batfish, barracuda, mandarinfish and occasional turtles. Pescador’s Talisay account adds reports of frogfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs and moray eels. Neptune describes green and hawksbill turtles at Talisay Point. These are attributed site accounts, not recent sighting records, encounter guarantees or evidence of a reliable wildlife season.

Magic Island also presents the slope-and-wall combination as a night-dive option. Availability, the planned route and any prerequisites should be confirmed when booking rather than inferred from an undated promotional description.

Conditions, access and remaining unknowns

Magic Island gives a 15–30 m visibility range for Talisay Wall. It is an operator estimate, not a forecast. Regional Moalboal temperature and seasonal descriptions do not independently establish conditions at this wall. Neptune publishes current and visibility figures for its Talisay Point offering; confirm their relevance to the intended route before using them for planning.

The operator descriptions mention small caves. Their presence does not establish safe entry into an overhead environment; this guide does not recommend entering them. Confirm an appropriate open-water route, access arrangements and current conditions with a local professional. The existing map point is retained and has not been independently verified by this review.

Additional subjects in the Talisay account

Pescador Diving Center also reports leaf fish, Spanish dancer nudibranchs, stonefish and triggerfish in its named Talisay section. These are additions to the broader reef-life list above, not observations made for this guide. The account provides no dated sightings or dependable encounter frequency, and does not resolve the site's exact boundaries.
