Pinnacle · Seamount · Reef · Coral-garden · Drift

Three massive submerged pinnacles — the “sisters” — rise from a 30m sandy seabed to within 3–5m of the surface off southern Padar, close enough together that divers cross between them in a single dive (a rarely visited fourth sister lurks further south). Cold, nutrient-rich upwellings keep the rock pristine and densely quilted in soft corals, sponges, tunicates and sea fans. Schooling barracuda, trevally, mobula rays and the occasional eagle ray sweep the blue, while frogfish, pygmy seahorses, ribbon eels and nudibranchs hide in the growth. Unmarked on charts and current-swept, it is best timed to slack tide.
