About This Dive Site
Yapak names several wall sections
New Wave Divers uses Yapak for northern Boracay wall sections called Yapak 1, 2 and 3. This listing remains a broad guide; it does not create three independently located dive sites or identify which section a particular boat will visit.
Wall depth and dive depth differ
The operator describes the wall beginning around 30 m and continuing beyond 70 m, while its outing summary lists 30–40 m. The deeper figure describes terrain, not a recommended dive depth. Confirm the section and planned profile rather than interpreting a listing's maximum as an itinerary.
Experience and conditions matter
The source describes a current-driven dive for experienced divers, with reports of schooling fish, sharks and rays. Sightings are not assured. Ask your operator which experience and training it requires for the proposed route; this partial account does not provide current conditions or a personal dive plan.
Reef face and open water are different viewing areas
New Wave’s named guide distinguishes the reef face from the open water beside it. It associates triggerfish with the wall and describes bannerfish, batfish, fusiliers and sweetlips along the reef edge, while its open-water account reports tuna, trevally and barracuda, together with white-tip reef sharks, marble rays and eagle rays farther from the wall. Those are useful habitat distinctions within the operator’s broad account. They do not locate three independently mapped sites, establish how often any animal appears or turn the wall’s full extent into a planned dive profile.
A specific Yapak 2 outing
The operator’s 1 December 2025 Yapak 2 log records a 30-metre maximum and 32-minute duration. The writer describes a negative entry and descent to the top of the wall, followed by redtooth triggerfish, longfin bannerfish, Moorish idols and fusiliers near its beginning. At a crack, the log reports batfish and harlequin sweetlips. This is a sequence from a particular guided outing, not an entry procedure or route instruction for readers.
The same log describes weak current and 28°C water on that visit. Those observations cannot establish today’s current or a seasonal temperature range. Its view down beyond 50 metres refers to terrain below the divers, not proof that the logged dive descended there. Keeping the observed maximum separate from the depth visible below the wall avoids turning an account of scenery into a deeper itinerary.
Eclipse’s directory labels its account Yapak 1 and describes a 30-metre start and 40-metre maximum. That section-specific account should not silently replace a Yapak 2 visit or New Wave’s broader three-section name. The exact intended section therefore remains important when comparing operator descriptions.
