Manta Alley

At the wild southern tip of Komodo Island, a cluster of rocky islets splits the Indian Ocean swell into a narrow underwater corridor — “the Alley” — where reef mantas queue at cleaning stations and barrel-feed through plankton-rich water. The deep cleaning station sits around 20–22m where rock meets white sand; mantas also loop through the shallows, sometimes circling divers on their safety stop. Anthias swarm the rocks, blacktip sharks patrol the reef, and trevally hunt the channel. Remote, cool and current-swept, it is widely rated the park’s most reliable manta dive — sea state permitting.
