Daryl Laut (Wreck)

Anilao's only true wreck dive is the skeleton of the Dari Laut, a floating hotel-casino of the late 1970s–80s that burned and sank — locals tell it as a lightning strike or an insurance fire, take your pick. Salvagers stripped everything but the steel frame, which now lies tilted down the reef slope off western Caban Island, its upper beams at ~13 m and its foot at ~28 m, with sand running deeper beyond. Every girder is upholstered in hard and soft coral, sponges and tunicates; a resident school of batfish circles the structure while frogfish, nudibranchs and flatworms stud the encrusted frame. Current is usually negligible, making it a favourite deep-training site.
