ドニャ・マリリン号の沈船は、フィリピンのマラパスクア島近くに位置する重要なダイビングサイトで、ボートで約90分の距離にあります。この100メートル（または97.6〜98メートル）の旅客フェリーは、かつてSulpicio Lines Inc.によって運航されていましたが、1988年10月23日、マニラからタクロバンへの航海中に台風ルビー（ウンサンとしても知られる）の際に悲劇的に沈没しました。この災害により甚大な人命が失われ、300人から400人以上が死亡し、生存者はわずか147人であったと報告されています。
