Rosy Razorfish

A sand-dwelling wrasse that dives headfirst into loose sand to vanish completely when startled — an escape reflex shared by the whole razorfish genus — and re-emerges once the danger passes. Adult males in breeding colour show a rosy-pink flush across the head and body that gives the species its common name.
