About This Dive Site

One of the signature dives of the southern double-reef system — confirmed as a true double reef (two coral ridges split by a sand channel). The first ridge starts almost at the shoreline around 4.5 m and rolls gently down to about 15 m; coral bridges span the channel toward a second ridge that begins within 18 m and carries on deeper. The sand corridor works like a marine-life highway: garden eels sway in colonies while stingrays and the odd eagle ray cruise through. Famously friendly French angelfish gave the site its name. Easy entry and forgiving depths make it a favourite first double-reef dive, though the geometry demands basic navigation.

Certification Required: Open Water Diver (guided or navigation-confident buddy teams for the second reef)
