The source 'Coral Reef Safari' (coralreefsafari.eco) does not appear to contain any information about Buluarte dive site, nor does it contain information about water temperatures at that site. The content on the page is about the best time to dive in Puerto Galera, which is a different location entirely.

A search for 'Coral Reef Safari' (coralreefsafari.eco) reveals that the website primarily focuses on diving in Puerto Galera, a different location in the Philippines, and does not contain information about the Buluarte dive site or its water temperatures. Therefore, it cannot be used as a source for Buluarte.

About This Dive Site
Buluarte: an overlapping house-reef route
Buluarte is part of the reef diving around Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte. Peter's Dive Resort describes it together with Voltaire's Rock and Max Climax: adjacent routes in front of the resort with drop-offs, sandy slopes and hard and soft corals. That grouped description supports the character of the area; it does not establish a separate boundary for each named site.
Choosing the route
The operator reports variable current across these reefs. Ask which Buluarte section is planned, how the entry and pickup work, and what conditions the guide expects on the day. A house-reef label alone should not be read as a guarantee of easy conditions.
What remains uncertain
This is a partial, source-attributed guide. Exact route boundaries and a site-specific minimum certification remain unconfirmed in this review. Confirm the planned depth and suitability directly with the dive operator. Wildlife reports describe possibilities, not guaranteed sightings.
Named descriptions of Buluarte
Sogod Bay Scuba Resort spells the site "Baluarte" in its current dive-site map data, captured on 7 October 2026, placing it in the house-reef group with a range of 10 to 35 metres for all levels and the summary: "Part of the house-reef system, Baluarte mixes coral slopes with sandy patches that hide critters, an easy dive with plenty to find." Bluewater Dive Travel's resort page spells it "Bulawarte" and groups it with Max's Climax 1 and 2, Voltaire's Rock and a wreck dive as five dives right outside the resort ranging "from 15 up to 40 meters". Padre Burgos Castle Resort likewise lists "Max's Climax, Voltaire's Rock and Buluarte" at Lungsodaan with dives from 15 to 40 metres. Peter's Dive Resort groups the three names, and FeetDoTravel's post of 13 February 2019 repeats that framing, calling them "three overlapping dive sites which stretch for nearly a kilometre right outside Peter's Dive Resort"; the depth ranges quoted by these operators belong to the group, not to Buluarte alone. Dive Happy's article, revised after an April 2024 visit, names Baluarte with Max Climax and Bunga Bend as sites close to the house reef that share "a sandy slope interspersed with clumps of coral", about five minutes' travel away.
Dated visitor accounts
Selsey Bill Sub Aqua Club's March 2018 report, diving with Sogod Bay Scuba Resort, logged Baluarte on 8 March as "just north of SBDR", a relaxed dive over "coral outcrops on a sandy slope" with a large brown frogfish, shrimps and slugs, and again on 16 March, when the group dropped in about 150 metres from the mooring and swam back, finding small shrimps inside sea squirts, porcelain crabs and a small scorpionfish. Diver Bliss, a guide by Ara Juan first published in May 2022 and updated to July 2026, calls Baluarte "a shallow dive with a sloping reef full of colorful soft and hard corals and small reef fishes" and notes "a pickup truck that's been converted to a wreck diving site", with a photo captioned as colourful reef at 5 metres. A ScubaBoard trip report of 30 December 2025 lists Baluarte among the sites dived from Sogod Bay Scuba Resort as both a day and a night dive, and says the group repeated the Baluarte night dive by request. Whether these accounts cover the same stretch that Peter's Dive Resort calls Buluarte is not established here.
