Seamount · Pinnacle · Drift

Castle Rock is North Komodo’s signature pelagic arena — a fully submerged seamount rising from ~30m to within 5–7m of the surface, two kilometres off Gili Lawa Laut. Nutrient-rich tidal currents slam into the pinnacle and ignite a feeding chain: walls of fusiliers and surgeonfish shimmer over the reef while grey reef sharks, whitetips, giant trevally and dogtooth tuna hunt the edges. Divers make a negative entry, drop fast through blue water and hook in at 20–25m to watch the show. On lucky days, chevron barracuda tornadoes form overhead and bottlenose dolphins buzz the safety stop.
