About This Dive Site
Rock formations and an underwater cross
Eagle Point Resort describes Cathedral off Bagalangit Point, with a cross between two rock formations. Its account places the cross around 15 m deep and describes a stepped reef.
Two descriptions of the central feature
Casa Escondida’s April 2026 guide also identifies a stone cross between two coral-covered rocks, describing an 18 m seabed. Eagle Point’s approximate 15 m figure refers to the cross itself. These descriptions concern related features, rather than establishing identical measurement points or a universal maximum for the site.
Reef scenery and reported turtles
Casa Escondida describes reef fish around the formations and reports hawksbill turtles. Its account presents Cathedral as a sheltered option for beginner-to-intermediate divers. These are the operator’s characterizations, not a current condition check or a guarantee that the site suits every newly certified diver. The turtle report has no dated observation attached. Ask which part of the stepped reef is planned and whether the cross is included; the central feature and a deeper reef outing should not be assumed to be the same dive.
Confirm the route depth
The same source lists a much deeper maximum than the feature described in its narrative. These figures should not be treated as one standard dive profile. Ask the operator which section the outing covers and its planned depth.
A partial guide
The checked pages do not establish current access arrangements or reliable wildlife encounter rates. Historical stories and regional biodiversity totals are not evidence of what a visitor will see here today.
Life attached to the rocks
The Asri’s undated Cathedral description lists sponges, nudibranchs and feather duster worms among the rocks and stony corals of the stepped reef. It also describes feather stars and expanded soft corals when current is running. These are reported features of the reef community, not a recent biodiversity survey or guaranteed sightings, and the account is not treated as independent confirmation of the other operator descriptions.
Between the sandy approach and stepped reef
The Asri’s account distinguishes a sandy approach with scattered small coral heads from the two larger formations around the cross. It describes the reef beyond them descending in small steps and discusses scenery down to about 24 metres. This narrative is separate from the considerably deeper figures in the page’s summary table; it does not resolve their different scopes or replace the planned depth of a particular visit.
Besides the attached reef life already described, The Asri reports parrotfish and hawkfish, anemones with anemonefish, sea cucumbers and small barrel sponges. Its fish account explicitly refers to feeding by visitors, so concentrations described there should not be presented as undisturbed natural encounter rates. The page is undated and contains historical wording; its named habitats add context without establishing present access, reef condition or a recommendation to feed marine life.
