About This Dive Site
Crocodile Island is a named reef and wall dive off southeastern Boracay. Eclipse Dive Center and New Wave Divers associate the name with the island’s crocodile-head shape. This guide follows their Boracay site descriptions, but Diveity’s retained source position remains unverified. There is no map marker or navigation point for this partial record, and the published island orientation does not establish an entry point or exact dive boundary.
Coral shelf, wall and route depths
Eclipse describes a sloping wall beginning around 5 metres and continuing to 25 metres, with much of its suggested route between 12 and 20 metres. Wicked Squid Divers gives a 4–24 metre profile and describes a coral shelf, sloping wall, terraces and small caves. These are operator descriptions, not a surveyed agreement on the shallowest and deepest parts of the entire reef. The cave references do not establish dimensions, conditions or suitability for entering an overhead space.
New Wave Divers describes drifting along walls and reefs between 10 and 25 metres. Its dated dive-log list includes entries at different depths, including 19 metres on June 5, 2026. A logged dive depth describes that outing, not a site-wide limit or an instruction for another diver.
Tides and choosing the dive
Wicked Squid reports currents ranging from mild to strong and says it schedules Crocodile Island according to the tide. Eclipse also warns of occasional strong current near the channel and advises checking the tide before diving. Their descriptions support planning around the intended route and conditions rather than treating an all-levels label as a guarantee. Confirm entry, exit, boat collection and the planned depth with the operator.
Wildlife reports and source limits
Wicked Squid mentions frogfish and pygmy seahorses among its reported subjects. New Wave’s account lists a broader mix of small reef animals, including nudibranchs, pipefish, moray eels, and cuttlefish. These are attributed reports rather than promised encounters, scientific species identifications or a recent abundance assessment.
PADI’s member-contributed listing contains a depth inconsistency: its prose gives 5–30 metres, while its maximum-depth field says 25 metres. Eclipse is one of its credited contributors, so that page is not wholly independent corroboration of Eclipse’s account. This review does not settle that difference by choosing a universal maximum.
Site-specific visibility ranges, reliable seasonal limits and present water-temperature ranges remain unverified here. General Boracay conditions cannot establish them for this route. Confirm current access arrangements and suitability locally; no local-diver verification is claimed by this guide.
In its June 5, 2026 dive log, New Wave describes shallow colorful corals, a descending slope and a small wall reaching about 18–20 metres on that outing. The group reported small fish and nudibranchs during its 40-minute dive. This dated route account adds detail to the operator’s overview; it does not establish the present reef condition or a universal depth limit.
