About This Dive Site

Skylodge Resort’s July 2022 diving article names Dimanglet Reef among its Coron dive sites.

Other listings use Demangelet Reef. That spelling relationship has not been independently checked. The dated article does not establish current access arrangements.

Location unresolved: The exact dive-site position has not been established for this partial guide. It has no map marker or navigation point.

Depth, current strength, visibility, seasonal conditions, access arrangements and diver suitability remain unknown in this partial guide. Confirm the intended site and a suitable dive plan with a local operator. No local-diver verification has been recorded.

PADI's description

PADI's Dimanglet dive-site page, built from a Neptune Dive Center contribution, describes a shallow sandy bottom near the beach that it calls perfect for learning and practising skills, with the reef slope starting just a few metres away and continuing well around the island. It describes a really nice reef with a chance of spotting schools of smaller yellowfin barracuda or one of the resident turtles, lists a 20 m maximum depth with boat or shore entry, and names Open Water Diver, Discover Scuba Diving and Scuba Refresher as useful training for the site. The page carries a map point, but that point has not been checked or adopted for this guide, which keeps its location unresolved.

Pirates' listing under another spelling

Pirates Diving Center's Coron and Busuanga reef page lists Demangelet Reef, describing stunning coral formations and clear waters with a chance to see larger marine life such as groupers, snappers and sometimes eagle rays, at 5 to 25 m for Open Water Divers. The 20 m and 25 m maximums are two operators' statements and are not reconciled here.

The 2022 resort article

A Wayback Machine snapshot of Skylodge Resort's article, dated 26 July 2022, confirms the wording already summarised above: the resort offered Discover Scuba Diving to its guests at spots it names as Dimanglet Reef, Siete Picados and Barracuda Lake. The article describes beginner introductions and celebrity visits rather than the reef itself.

Still open

The three sources agree that the site is used for beginners and training, but none gives entry points, currents, visibility, seasonal conditions or a date for its depth figures. The barracuda, turtle and eagle-ray mentions are possibilities noted by the operators, not encounter rates.
