La Laguna Point

The rocky point dividing Big La Laguna from Small La Laguna is the most-dived stretch of water in Puerto Galera. A hard- and soft-coral slope drops from the shallows past coral-covered hills at 15–20 metres, cut by sandy channels. Table corals, crinoids and anemones carpet the reef top; frogfish, octopus, moray eels and scorpionfish work the crevices below. On slack water it is a gentle site fit for a first boat dive or an Open Water course; on a spring tide the same reef becomes an easy drift. A minute from the resort beaches, it doubles as the area’s default night dive.
