About This Dive Site

Little Lembeh is listed by Sogod Bay Scuba Resort as a dive site in Southern Leyte. The operator describes black-sand muck diving.

This record follows the operator’s named map point. The precise dive entry, site boundaries and current access have not been independently confirmed. The source pin is an operator map location, not a surveyed navigation waypoint.

This partial guide preserves the operator’s published location while further checks are pending. Current entry arrangements, depth limits, currents, visibility and seasonal conditions remain unconfirmed here. Confirm the intended site and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.

The operator's listing and other accounts under the same name

Sogod Bay Scuba Resort's dive-site map data, captured on 7 October 2026, places Little Lembeh in its house-reef group with a boat time of 10 to 15 minutes, a range of 5 to 25 metres and a level of "All levels", tagged muck, macro and night, with the summary: "Black-sand muck diving named for its Indonesian cousin, and a favourite of photographers hunting the weird and the rare." Its listed highlights are seahorses and frogfish, nudibranchs, eels and octopus, and razorfish, shrimps and crabs. Divernet's article of 6 March 2017, by visitors returning to Sogod Bay Scuba Resort after a 2007 stay, says they "explored a muck-site called Little Lembeh, discovered since our last visit and home to a wonderful array of critters, especially Coleman shrimps". Selsey Bill Sub Aqua Club's March 2018 report, diving with the same resort, logged Little Lembeh by boat on 11 March, seeing ghost pipefish, a flamboyant cuttlefish, smaller cuttlefish and nudibranchs before "a second muck dive by a small village" further down the coast; on 16 March two dives there produced a wonderpus, ghost pipefish, sea moths, two seahorses and a juvenile leaf fish; and on 19 March the group went by truck, with a journey of "up to 20 minutes". Dive Happy's article, revised after an April 2024 visit, pairs Little Lembeh with Ghost Town as "supposedly barren grey sands" where divers hunt for mimic octopus, and a ScubaBoard member in March 2013 recommended the "little lembeh site" for macro.

An unresolved location question

Other accounts place a site of this name elsewhere in the bay. A LAMAVE account of a January 2020 itinerary describes a night dive at "little Lembeh" "just north of Malitbog". Underwater Photography Guide's article of 10 April 2013 puts Little Lembeh "around thirty minutes north of Padre Burgos by boat", landmarked by stilt huts. FeetDoTravel's post of 13 February 2019 describes "Malitbog Lembeh", about 30 minutes away, and explains that the name of that site means Little Lembeh. A ScubaBoard report of May 2023 refers to "Little Lembeh" muck dives in Malitbog. Diver Bliss, a guide by Ara Juan first published in May 2022 and updated to July 2026, says Little Lembeh "offers a combination of wreck diving and muck diving" and can be done as a shore or boat dive, without giving a location. Whether these describe the same site as the operator's house-reef pin, a separate black-sand site near the resort, or both, is not established here; no wildlife or depth from the Malitbog accounts is adopted for this record.
