About This Dive Site
Lumayac and the Lumayag naming question
Lumayac is listed as an Anda, Bohol dive location in the Zentacle community directory. Its relationship to operator accounts spelled Lumayag or Lumayag Point remains provisional. This guide keeps the existing directory identity and map position while explaining what the differently named sources actually report.
Accounts using Lumayac
Zentacle describes Lumayac as a coral-wall dive and compares it with Snapper Cave. It lists boat access and a maximum of 82 feet, approximately 25 metres. That comparison does not establish a cave feature at Lumayac or mean that the two names identify the same site.
Divebooker's Anda destination page also uses the Lumayac spelling. It describes a vertical wall from about 4 to 30 metres, with gorgonian sea fans associated with pygmy seahorses. This is a directory account of the wall, not a recent conditions report or independently surveyed dive boundary.
What Lumayag reports add
Blue Star Dive & Resort separately describes Lumayag as a wall changing into a sandy slope, with gorgonians, reported pygmy seahorses and schools of jacks. Magic Oceans' Lumayag Point sheet lists wall terrain and both macro and wide-angle photography interests. These reports may help a local operator clarify which section is intended, but they are not proof that every detail belongs to this Lumayac point.
Nigel Marsh's August 2023 Diveplanit story describes a coral-covered wall at Lumayag Point and reports a leopard shrimp on a tiger anemone. That observation remains tied to the name used in his account; it is not converted into a confirmed species association for this record.
Confirm the name and route
REEF's geographic report lists Lumayag separately from a combined Paradise Garden / Magic Oceans Lumayag name. The naming overlap therefore remains visible rather than being resolved by spelling similarity alone. Neither a merge nor a new separate site is established by this review.
Before choosing the dive, ask the operator to match the name and map position to the intended wall or slope. Depth limits, exact access, currents, visibility, temperature and seasonal conditions remain unconfirmed for this identity. The attributed accounts provide useful context, but they should not be combined into a single assured route.
Further spellings and dated descriptions
Teresa Zubi's Starfish dive pages, which present their Anda entries as short translations of descriptions from a German-run operator at Bituon Beach resort and note information added in 2003, describe Lumayag as a drop off to about 30 metres, nicely covered with soft corals, black corals and some Muricella gorgonians with pygmy seahorses. The same entry says dives there are mostly drift dives because there is a current, with sometimes large groups of bumphead parrotfish and some chance of seeing large fish and sharks. That is a dated secondhand summary, not a present-day conditions report.
Dive The World's Bohol guide uses a third spelling, Lumayak, describing a nice wall decorated with black coral bushes with myriad macro life on the wall and some of Anda's larger fish in the blue. Scubaverse's July 2025 profile of Magic Oceans Dive Resort lists a fourth form, Lumayas point, among 27 numbered sites, and the operator's seahorse article of June 2017 names Lumayag Point among the sites where it spots Bargibanti pygmy seahorses.
Bernds Liveaboard's Anda page, archived in December 2025, repeats Blue Star's wall-to-sandy-slope description almost word for word, adding that the sea fans are white; the two pages are one lineage. None of these sources resolves whether every spelling denotes the Lumayac point mapped here.
