About This Dive Site
Mansud Wall is listed as a Davao-area dive site in a South Shore Divers contribution to PADI. This partial guide uses the site name and map position from that source. The location has not been independently confirmed by a local diver.
PADI names this site Mansud Wall, while a community directory uses Mansoud Wall and places it about 275 metres away. The relationship between the two named positions and the exact dive entry remain unconfirmed.
Current access, entry arrangements, depth limits, currents, visibility and seasonal conditions remain unconfirmed. Confirm the exact site, current local conditions and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.
Dated dive reports
A ScubaBoard trip report posted on 22 October 2007 logs a dive from Mansud Wall to Angel Cove with Carabao Divers: that diver's maximum depth was 26.5 metres over 71 minutes, with 28 degrees Celsius water and 15 to 20 metres of visibility. The report describes good coral and life, overall similar to Anilao but with big patches of sandy areas, a fast-moving school of yellow sardine-like fish followed by a small school of trevally along the wall, transparent shrimp everywhere and the usual reef fish including clownfish. The same poster put Talikud at about 25 minutes by bangka from Pearl Farm Beach Resort on Samal and about an hour from Davao City's Sta. Ana Wharf. A logged depth is that diver's profile, not the site's range.
Dive Happy's Davao feature, first printed in Scuba Diver AustralAsia in 2008 and republished online in July 2009, compares Mansud Wall on Talikud to Mushroom Rock on Samal and says both provide perfect conditions for an exhilarating drift dive. It describes abundant soft coral on Mansud's vertical wall, which has a plateau at around 12 metres and then continues down, and recommends hanging in the current to take it in. Fish life on that visit included plenty of clownfish, the usual reef species and a well-camouflaged ghostpipefish; the writer noted that Mansud's two neighbouring sites, including Coral Garden, are very different in character.
Depth, spelling and derivative listings
PADI's entry, credited to South Shore Divers, gives a depth range of 10 to 40 metres, names nudibranchs, scorpionfish and sea turtles, recommends intermediate to advanced divers because of the depth and sometimes strong currents, and lists PADI Deep Diver among useful training. The SSI destination guide for Davao and Samal repeats that 10 to 40 metre text word for word in its Mansud Wall listing, so the two are treated as one lineage, while its own summary spells the name Masud Wall and describes steep walls adorned with soft corals. The Zentacle directory, which spells it Mansoud Wall, places the site north of Talikud, gives 82 feet as the maximum depth and notes great tunicates fixed to the wall. A Davao Today list from November 2005 and Philippine Beach Guide's Talikud guide, updated in 2021, both name Mansud Wall among the island's dive sites. A DivePlanner Pro page read in October 2026 describes a wall plunging to forty metres with large gorgonian fans and occasional reef sharks; it reads as a derivative summary and is not counted as independent. The 2007 logged depth, the 12-metre plateau, the 82-foot directory figure and the 40-metre listings are different kinds of numbers and are not reconciled into a single range here.
