Reef · Coral-garden

Prepare to be enchanted by Melissa's Garden, a truly iconic dive site nestled within Raja Ampat's stunning Fam Islands. Renowned as one of the world's most breathtaking coral gardens, this site promises an unforgettable underwater experience for divers.
As you descend into Melissa's Garden, divers will find themselves immersed in a kaleidoscope of color. The reef boasts near-total coral cover, a magnificent mosaic of hard and soft corals, sponges, and crinoids. We'll navigate through vast fields of staghorn, table, and brain corals, interspersed with lush soft corals, creating an underwater landscape that photographers adore.
The nutrient-rich waters of Melissa's Garden support an incredible diversity of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter graceful Blacktip Reef Sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and the uniquely camouflaged Tasselled Wobbegong (Eucrossorhinus dasypogon) resting among the corals.
The reef teems with schooling fish, including dazzling clouds of Sea Goldies (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) and large schools of Fusiliers (Caesio spp.). We often spot elegant Oriental Sweetlips (Plectorhinchus vittatus) and curious Longfin Batfish (Platax teira) patrolling the reef. Keep an eye out for the majestic Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) gliding by or resting.
For macro enthusiasts, Melissa's Garden is a paradise, offering opportunities to spot nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish, and various anemone fish nestled amongst their anemones. In deeper sections, we might also catch glimpses of barracudas, grey reef sharks, and occasionally even manta rays.
Melissa's Garden is truly a quintessential Raja Ampat experience, offering pristine, vivid, and abundant marine life that makes it one of the region's most celebrated dive sites.
