Oil Slick Leap

About This Dive Site
Named for an oil-terminal plan that never happened — the only leap here is the diver's own giant stride off the low limestone cliff into blue water (a sturdy steel ladder handles the exit, and gentler souls can climb down it both ways). The reef starts right at the base: a gentle slope from about 6 m into 25 m-plus, cut with overhangs and small swim-throughs sheltering octopus and lobster. Schools of barracuda hang off the edge, frogfish lurk in the sponges, and Reef Renewal grows elkhorn coral in a nursery on the terrace. Minimal current and trivial navigation make it a favourite easy shore dive with a memorable entry.
