The resort's own description

Sangat Island Dive Resort's reef page, the only source captured for this site, describes the Coral Gardens as lying between the resort and the island's hot springs and says the site can be reached by kayak, speedboat or on foot from the resort. In the resort's words the reef starts at 1 to 3 m, includes a number of vertical drop-offs with small caves and other features to explore, and reaches a maximum reef depth of approximately 25 m. The same page's summary table gives a 10 m maximum depth, a 25 m visibility figure, a 10-minute travel time and an Open Water Diver requirement; the 10 m and 25 m depth statements sit on the same page and are not reconciled here. The resort's island page lists the Coral Gardens with the House Reef as the island's two marine ecosystems, and its reef page calls them two of the most popular reef dives within Coron Bay.

Protected-area claims as stated by the resort

The resort states that the waters and reefs around Sangat Island were designated a protected marine park in 2004, that the Coral Gardens are an officially recognised and protected sanctuary, and that it hosts volunteers for reef-health studies, coral planting and removal of crown-of-thorns sea stars. It also claims that 75 percent of the reefs around the island are intact and healthy while the remainder recovers from typhoon damage, past illegal fishing and crown-of-thorns outbreaks. These are the operator's statements about its own site and have not been independently checked.

Why this guide stays partial

No third-party description, dated visitor account or independent depth figure for the Coral Gardens has been captured, and the resort's text carries no date. The Two Seasons Pawikan dive menu lists a Sangat Reef at 0 to 10 m for snorkelers and Open Water Divers, but it does not say whether that means the Coral Gardens, the House Reef or another reef, so it is not used here.
