Toscana Reef

About This Dive Site
Archived accounts describe a sloping house reef with drop-offs. Easy Diving reports 6–28 metres, whereas Artistic Diving gives an 11-metre start and a 28-metre maximum. The shallow boundary is uncertain.
This is a partial site guide based on retained dive listings. Conditions, access, seasonal suitability and current operating arrangements have not been checked by a local diver. The map position comes from a published dive-site dataset and should be confirmed with a local operator before planning a visit.

Slopes and reported cave features
Artistic Diving’s archived 2019 page mentions several slopes and cave features at Toscana Reef. It does not provide a mapped overhead route or establish that entering those features is appropriate. Ask which open-water section the operator intends to visit; this terrain description does not resolve the differing shallow-depth figures.
Coral gardens beyond the shallow section
Diving Squad’s Alex, describing his 2023 Sipalay trip, gives a Toscana profile starting around 5 metres in soft corals before continuing toward hard corals, ridges, pinnacles and slopes. That is another visitor route reference alongside the older operator depths, not a correction establishing the reef’s absolute shallow boundary. He reports seeing a couple of turtles during his own dive, while listing nudibranchs, frogfish and crustaceans among the site’s smaller subjects.
The article distinguishes those personal turtle sightings from other animals presented as possibilities. Its broad description of negligible current should not be treated as a prediction for a future visit. The trip account supports varied coral scenery and a particular visitor’s experience, without establishing present coral health, a dependable turtle encounter rate or conditions on every section of the reef.
Alex also lists banded sea kraits, pygmy seahorses, barracuda and jacks as possible subjects. These are not presented with individual sighting dates and should remain possibilities rather than additions to a verified species checklist.
Manami Resort’s Toscana section locates the dive between Punta Ballo Beach and Solana. It describes a gently sloping reef with hard and soft coral gardens and names angelfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish and damselfish. Its green-turtle report is an operator claim rather than evidence that the turtles in another visitor’s account were that species. The entry gives useful habitat and locality context but no measured depth that settles the historical discrepancy.
Cbartazo’s 2017 article describes a separate Toscana afternoon dive after Eva’s Point, reporting a resting turtle, jackfish and a coral slope. Rougher surface water on that outing is a dated observation, not proof of a regular afternoon pattern.
The writer also lists anemones, sea whips, hydroids and sea cucumbers along the afternoon reef, keeping these observations separate from the earlier Eva’s Point dive.
