Diverout, one of the cited sources, states the depth range for Virgin Drop as 12-35 meters. This directly contradicts the claim that the minimum depth is 12 meters, as it implies 12m is the minimum, but not necessarily the starting point of the dive.

While PADI lists the maximum depth as 36 meters, other sources like DiveGurus Boracay and diverout state the maximum depth as 35 meters. Another source, Scotty's Action Sports Network, states the 'bottom of the slope' is 36m, but that the 'second wall is going down to 50 meters', which suggests the main dive is not to 50m. Since PADI is a publisher-cluster identified as 'PuertoParrot downstream cluster (Dive Mindoro / PADI / Angelyn's)' and diverout is a publisher-cluster identified as 'Wannadive/Zentacle aggregator dataset', they are not independent sources.

About This Dive Site

Two wall sections

New Wave Divers describes Virgin Drop as a stepped wall with sea fans and crinoids. Its guide gives a 14–36 m route and mentions a cave near the deeper section. The cave reference identifies a feature; it is not an invitation to enter an overhead environment.

Depth remains route-dependent

The same page displays individual logged depths, including one deeper than its summary range. Those entries are not a bathymetric survey, so this partial description does not turn them into a single definitive minimum or maximum. The listing's disputed depth fields remain unresolved.

Choose the planned section

The operator presents this as an advanced outing and reports reef fish and occasional larger animals. Confirm the intended wall section and planned depth with your operator. Reported animals are not guaranteed sightings, and a deeper feature need not be part of your dive.

What other operators publish

DiveGurus Boracay's page, read in October 2026, gives a starting depth of 18 metres and a maximum of 35 metres and describes a vertical wall dropping into the blue, adorned with large sea fans, soft corals and crinoids, with bass, moray eels and nudibranchs in the crevices and the occasional eagle ray or barracuda passing through thermoclines during tidal changes. WaterColors Boracay's site list gives 18 to 40 metres, requires Advanced Open Water, flags timing for tide and current, and adds white tip reef sharks hiding in wall cracks, big turtles and pygmy seahorse; it puts the boat ride at 10 minutes from Station 3 and 12 from Station 1. The DiveGurus and WaterColors wording about sea fans, crinoids, bass, moray eels, nudibranchs and eagle rays in thermoclines is the same text lineage, so they are counted as one account rather than two. PADI's dive-site page, credited to Eclipse Dive Center Boracay, lists a maximum depth of 36 metres and both boat and shore entry.

So the published figures run from 14–36 m (New Wave) and 18–35 m (DiveGurus) to 18–40 m (WaterColors) and 36 m (PADI), and a PADI instructor commenting on Divezone in April 2019 wrote "Virgin Drop (40m)". None of these is reconciled here.

Dated dive logs

New Wave's log of 27 February 2025 records a 37 metre, 31 minute dive with a thermocline around 27 metres, schools of fusiliers and bannerfish, a solitary big bumphead parrotfish and a stingray in the sandy area. Its log of 30 November 2025, written in Spanish, describes the reef as falling from 14 metres to more than 40, says the group stayed around thirty metres, and reports a turtle at the start, another at the end, a blue nudibranch the size of a pepper and a reef ray. Four diver reviews on scubadiving.place list maximum depths of 17, 28, 29 and 32 metres, one noting a seahorse and a turtle. These are individual profiles, not site limits.

Hazards & Safety

Be aware of these potential hazards at this dive site

Current

Severity: Medium

Currents are shifting easily and can be moderate, requiring experienced divers.

Depth

Severity: High

The sheer drop-off makes it easy to descend past planned limits, requiring careful monitoring of depth and bottom time.

Boat traffic

Severity: Medium

Boat traffic can be heavy near the coast, necessitating the use of a surface marker buoy for ascent.
