Pro Dive Cairns, a PADI 5-Star Training and Instructor Development Centre operating from Cairns CBD since 1983, offers comprehensive dive services and certification courses for all levels, from beginner to professional. The facility features air-conditioned classrooms and two heated, 4-meter-deep training pools, providing a professional and safe learning environment.

Certification Courses

• PADI Open Water Certification: Available as a 5-day Learn-to-Dive course combining pool and classroom training with a 3-day/2-night liveaboard trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef. An eLearning option is also available, allowing theory to be completed online before practical training. This course includes 9 dives, with 4 training dives and 5 pleasure dives, including one night dive.
• PADI Advanced Open Water Course: Conducted during the 3-day/2-night liveaboard, this course enhances skills with core dives in deep diving, underwater navigation, peak performance buoyancy, and night diving. Elective dives like nitrox, underwater naturalist, or boat diving are also available.
• Professional Development: Pro Dive Cairns also offers Divemaster training.

Guided Trips and Dive Sites

Pro Dive Cairns' flagship offering is a 3-day/2-night Outer Reef liveaboard trip, visiting up to 19 exclusive dive sites across Flynn, Thetford, Milln, and Pellowe Reefs. These trips include up to 11 dives, with two night dives, offering opportunities to encounter diverse marine life such as giant clams, sea turtles, stingrays, reef sharks, and tropical fish amidst spectacular coral formations. Visibility typically ranges from 10 to 30 meters, with water temperatures rarely dropping below 22°C. The liveaboard vessels are custom-built, featuring air-conditioned twin or double cabins and spacious decks.

• Flynn Reef: Popular for novice to experienced divers, with sites like Tracey's Bommie and Coral Gardens. Depths range from 5 to 25 m.
• Milln Reef: Known for excellent wall dives, pinnacles, swim-throughs, and night diving opportunities, with sites such as Whale Bommie and Swimming Pools. Depths range from 5 to 25 m.
• Thetford Reef: Features numerous coral bommies, wall dives, and swim-throughs, home to giant clams and a variety of corals. Depths range from 5 to 30 m.
• Pellowe Reef: An isolated reef close to the continental shelf, offering spectacular diving with depths quickly dropping to 30 m.

Equipment and Services

The dive shop, located in Cairns, offers an extensive range of dive, snorkel, and watersports equipment for sale and rental, including BCDs, regulators, dive computers, wetsuits, and masks. Equipment servicing and repairs are also available. Complimentary hotel transfers are provided from Cairns city accommodation. Instructors are available who speak English, German, Japanese, and Chinese.
