About This Dive Site
Camia II Wreck is a named shipwreck dive in Boracay, Aklan. WaterColors, Wicked Squid Divers and DiveGurus list the wreck. The guide retains the named directory location as an approximate point.
This guide follows the SSI/Scubago point named Camia Wreck. Camia II is a shipwreck, distinct from the Tribird aircraft wreck. The source point has not been surveyed or verified by a local diver for this guide and is not a confirmed entry or navigation waypoint.
Published depth descriptions differ, including whether a figure refers to the deck or seabed. A single depth range has not been confirmed here. This partial guide does not establish wreck condition, penetration suitability, current access or safe entry arrangements. Currents, visibility and seasonal conditions remain unknown here. Confirm the intended location and a suitable dive plan with a local operator.
An upright ship on a sandy seabed
New Wave Divers describes CamiaII standing upright on sand, with the deck around 25 metres and the bottom of the hull near 31 metres. Those are different parts of the ship, which helps explain why a wreck can appear under more than one depth figure. The account describes growth on railings, masts and cargo holds, fish around the superstructure and smaller animals using the surfaces. It reports batfish, snapper and trevally around the structure, and scorpionfish, trumpetfish, nudibranchs, lobsters and crabs closer to it. These are attributed habitat observations, not guaranteed sightings.
Attributed sinking history
Eclipse Dive Center says an association of island dive schools sank Camia in 2001. New Wave also gives 2001 and describes the sinking as an artificial-reef project. Agreement between these operator accounts is useful provenance, but it is not an independently examined vessel or sinking record. The retained guide therefore attributes the date rather than presenting a newly verified historical finding.
New Wave’s page describes cabin and cargo-hold features and advertises wreck training. Its promotional assessment that the wreck is intact does not establish current structural condition, access permission or suitability for entering an overhead space. The existing uncertainty about penetration and arrangements remains. A deck-level description is useful for understanding the ship’s layout without turning course advertising into a dive plan.
Vessel scale and a reported descent reference
New Wave’s separate Camia article describes a vessel around 30 metres long, identifying the bridge and compartments as well as the deck and cargo holds. That length describes the ship, not water depth. The article also describes a descent using a mooring line attached to the wreck. This is the operator’s account of an arrangement, not confirmation that a line is present, maintained or available on a future visit.
