About This Dive Site
Evo Reef and the house-reef names
Evo Reef is a Malapascua macro-diving site described by Sea Explorers as a mixture of sand, seagrass and artificial structures. Scubago and ScubaDivingPlace connect the name with Evolution House Reef. Evolution Diving Resort describes its own house reef on its recreational dive-site page. These accounts provide a useful naming connection, but do not establish surveyed boundaries or prove that every nearby house-reef listing refers to the same area.
Confirm the operator and intended reef when booking. A PADI page whose address contains “evolution-house-reef” currently displays the title Exotic House Reef and credits Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort. Its figures should not be transferred to Evo Reef merely because of that address.
Bottom habitat and reported wildlife
The sandy and seagrass habitat rewards close observation of small, camouflaged animals. Sea Explorers reports frogfish, seahorses, sea moths, nudibranchs, shrimp and crabs, and describes artificial structures as shelter for fish and smaller creatures. Those descriptions do not verify the present condition of individual structures.
Evolution’s house-reef account mentions squat lobsters, shrimp, bobtail squid at dusk, octopuses, snake eels and occasional stargazers. These are operator reports rather than dated sightings for a particular visit. Broad common names do not establish exact species, and the guide does not promise encounters or convert promotional frequency claims into wildlife statistics.
Depth and route limits remain uncertain
The reviewed operator descriptions do not establish one complete minimum-to-maximum depth range for Evo Reef. ScubaDivingPlace shows a 14 m average and individual dive reports reaching 11, 12 and 18 metres. An average or a diver’s recorded depth is not a surveyed boundary or a universal maximum.
Evolution separately describes the Trench in its technical-diving material, including a slope reaching 35 metres before a deeper drop. That is a different route description, not a depth limit for this house-reef guide. Ask the operator to identify the intended route and appropriate depth before the dive.
Conditions and planning
Sea Explorers lists Evo Reef for check dives, training and relaxed macro diving. This does not establish that conditions are suitable for every diver on every day. The existing current information remains unresolved; do not assume a current-free dive from the training label or a directory estimate.
Evolution describes its house reef as a short trip from its beachfront, but that does not establish access arrangements for other operators. Confirm departure, entry, night-dive availability and prerequisites locally. Site-specific seasonal limits, measured visibility and temperature ranges remain unverified here. The existing map point is retained without new independent position verification.
