Ligpo Island

A small rocky islet in Balayan Bay that divers can circle in a single dive, Ligpo offers two personalities. The east side holds a sheltered reef and a small cave/cavern at depth, hung with soft corals and patrolled by morays — a favourite night dive at neap tide, when catfish and squid emerge. Off the west side, a near-vertical wall plunges past 30 m, and an angular pinnacle the size of a small office building stands detached from it, smothered in sea fans from yellow to deep purple. When current sweeps the pinnacle, giant trevally, the odd blacktip reef shark and turtles ride the flow.
