Island reef, wall and nearby formations
Blue Ribbon Divers describes a shallow reef leading to a wall around Ligpo Island, with sea fans and an offshore pinnacle. Its listing gives 5–35 m. Anilao Diving and Resorts describes a 10–30 m wall outing with a sandy slope extending deeper.
Wall, pinnacle and soft corals
Casa Escondida’s April 2026 guide describes a combination of wall, pinnacle and soft-coral gardens at Ligpo Island, with a profile reaching about 35 m. This overlaps the general terrain described by Blue Ribbon, but does not establish that the operators follow an identical route. A visit to the island reef should not be assumed to include the separately named Ligpo Cavern.
An operator’s conditions and wildlife notes
Casa Escondida says currents can be brisk and markets this outing to intermediate-to-advanced divers. It reports nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and shrimp as well as hawksbill turtles. These statements are useful for discussing the proposed outing with a local team, but do not supply a certification rule, current forecast or dated wildlife observation. The generic pygmy-seahorse reference does not identify a species. Confirm which reef or pinnacle section is planned, how the boat will handle the outing and what conditions are expected before treating the published depth as a personal dive plan.
Confirm which feature is intended
The island reef, adjacent pinnacle and cave references are not interchangeable route names. These source descriptions do not establish that every outing visits all of them, or that their depth limits are identical. Ask the operator to identify the planned feature and profile before choosing the trip.
A partial habitat account
The sources describe sea-fan habitat and fish observations, but do not provide a dated survey supporting dependable encounter frequencies. The earlier claims about a fixed circumnavigation, night-diving conditions and particular cave residents remain unverified. This guide retains the named island while leaving those route-specific details open.
The rocky shallows
Blue Ribbon Divers describes rocks and boulders rising from the top of the wall toward Ligpo Island, with hard and soft corals over them. This shallow habitat is distinct from the deeper wall and offshore pinnacle. The page credits its account to Anilao Dive Sites by Ram Yoro and Andrew Marriott; it is not a new independent survey of present coral cover.
Following the wall toward the detached pinnacle
Blue Ribbon’s guidebook-derived account gives more detail about the shape of the wall: some sections descend almost vertically beyond the visible bottom, while other sections have a bottom visible deeper than 30 metres. Away from the wall it describes an angular, detached-looking pinnacle topped by sea fans and soft corals. That physical separation distinguishes an outing along the island wall from one that also crosses toward the offshore formation; it does not establish a measured crossing distance or a standard route for every boat.
The same account reports trumpetfish around the pinnacle and giant trevallies beside the wall. It also mentions a rocky crevice between the two formations. These details describe different places within the published outing, rather than a single shallow coral garden. Its promotional claims about animal sizes and encounters are not used as measured local records.
