About This Dive Site
Archived operator accounts describe MS Jojo as a freighter wreck in Campomanes Bay. Easy Diving gives the upper wreck at both 20 and 22 metres, with a maximum of 33 metres. These figures are source reports, not a current survey.
Sea Explorers describes MS Jojo as a freighter lying on its side and recommends experience and good buoyancy control. Its general wreck guidance excludes penetration from a standard recreational dive. That description does not resolve the inconsistent upper-wreck depths in the older account.
Additional operator account reviewed 3 October 2026: Sea Explorers — Sipalay dive sites. This review date is not a dive or sighting date.
This is a partial site guide based on retained dive listings. Conditions, access, seasonal suitability and current operating arrangements have not been checked by a local diver. The map position comes from a published dive-site dataset and should be confirmed with a local operator before planning a visit.

Two operator descriptions of the wreck
Artistic Diving's archived 2019 dive-site page places the MS Jojo in what it calls the flowless Campomanes bay, about 30 minutes south of its dive centre, and describes it as a two-masted freighter from the 1980s lying laterally and starting at a depth of 20 metres. The same page says the hold can be dived comfortably at about 30 metres with sunlight entering through hatches, mentions the engine compartment, the captain's cabin and a hand-sawed propeller shaft at the stern, gives the wreck as 80 metres long and says it sank in the 1980s for alleged overload. Those are historical operator statements, not a survey.
The taucher.net entry for the MS Jojo wreck, whose photographs are credited to Takatuka Divers and which carries a dive report dated 3 May 2014, also calls it an 80-metre two-mast freighter lying on its side, home to countless batfish and big lionfish, and places it between 24 and 32 metres on a sandbank.
A wreck-history page with a different length
A German-language page on ss-panay.com, archived in August 2018 and written by an author who is not named in the site's imprint, gives the vessel's correct name as MS Don Jojo, a 66-metre freighter of the Lorenzo Shipping Corporation of Manila, built in Japan in 1964 as the Sanei Maru, brought to the Philippines in 1977 and sunk in 1985, with the circumstances described as not known. It says the wreck lies at about 32 metres on its port side, that the descent is on a rope from 22 metres, that visibility is rather poor, and that the large cargo hold is easy to dive and usually clearer than outside; it advises not to forget a torch. It reports curious batfish, many big lionfish especially around the bow, and scorpionfish, snails, mantis shrimps, shrimps and pipefish in the cracks. The 66-metre length conflicts with the 80 metres given by the other two sources and is not reconciled here.
A 2023 visitor's caution
Diving Squad's Sipalay guide, written after the author's 2023 trip, describes the MS Jojo as a cargo ship sunk in 1980 lying at 26 to 33 metres and says the visibility is variable but generally bad, so the wreck is rarely dived and never penetrated. SSI's Sipalay destination page lists it at 22 to 33 metres for advanced divers. Sinking year, depths and visibility differ between sources and remain unverified.
