Reef · Coral-garden · Muck

Beneath one of the world’s few pink-sand beaches — blushed by crushed red Tubipora coral — lies a deceptively rich dive. A gentle coral garden begins metres from shore, sloping over reef, rubble and seagrass before dropping down a steeper coral slope ~150m out to about 30m. Calm, shallow and beginner-perfect by day, Pink Beach transforms after dark into one of Komodo’s celebrated night dives: leaf scorpionfish, blue-ribbon eels, crocodilefish, frogfish and a parade of nudibranchs, with turtles, rays and passing reef sharks for the wide-angle crowd.
