A sanctuary and resort house reef
Planet Dive identifies Twin Rocks Marine Sanctuary as its house reef. The Asri separately lists a shallow profile, with a maximum of 40 feet (about 12 m).
The paired boulders and coral garden
Casa Escondida’s April 2026 guide describes two large boulders about a metre apart, with a coral garden extending to roughly 16 m. That account offers a useful picture of the terrain, while The Asri’s shallower listed maximum describes a different published profile. Neither figure establishes the boundary of every Twin Rocks outing.
An operator’s wildlife account
Casa Escondida reports schooling jacks, reef fish and juvenile hawksbill turtles, together with nudibranchs, pipefish, seahorses and scorpionfish around the reef. These are named-site operator reports, with no observation dates or measured encounter rates supplied. Its broad labels for jacks and seahorses do not identify a particular species. The article describes the reef as approachable for beginners; suitability still depends on the section and conditions selected by the dive team.
Ask which section is included
The available listings do not define a common route boundary. A quoted maximum is not proof that every outing stays within that depth. Confirm the proposed route, entry arrangements and conditions with the local team.
Wildlife information remains partial
The sources checked here do not establish site-specific species totals or reliable sighting frequencies. Broad Anilao biodiversity figures should not be read as a count of animals documented at Twin Rocks.
A dated route beyond the shallow boulders
Michael McFadyen describes the bommies rising from about 12 m toward the surface, with sand, smaller coral outcrops and sea whips around them. His August 2023 account describes a boat anchored southeast of the main formations, followed by a descent across sand toward them. His dive continued into roughly 21–23 m before returning gradually toward the shallower reef and boat. That is a recorded outing beyond the shallow operator profiles above, not a newly established maximum or a route every visitor should follow.
Along that route he reports sea-whip shrimps and gobies, nudibranchs, mantis shrimps and octopus. He also describes pygmy seahorses on a gorgonian and a juvenile ribbon eel near the boat. These details connect reported subjects to a historical route; neither the animals nor the boat location can be assumed to remain there. His approximately 15 m visibility and 30°C water describe that August visit only.
The difference between the shallow listings and this deeper account makes the intended section worth confirming before entering. A beginner-oriented visit around the boulders and a deeper circuit are different plans, even when both are sold under the Twin Rocks name.
