About This Dive Site

Laguna, Boracay

Laguna is a reef dive on Boracay's east side. New Wave Divers describes coral formations and a reported depth range of 9–32 metres, with routes that can stay shallower or explore deeper sections. Its published dive logs include shallower profiles; the full range is not a requirement for every visit.

Choose the route, not just the site name

New Wave reports using Laguna when conditions make the west coast less favourable. This is an operator's seasonal practice, not a guarantee that the east coast will be sheltered on your date. Confirm the entry, departure point and conditions with the operator arranging your dive.

The operator's logs report turtles, reef fish and small marine life such as nudibranchs and cuttlefish. These records describe past dives and do not promise sightings. Its visibility estimate is also a reported condition, not a forecast.

This partial guide does not settle the full site's measured depth limits or establish shore access for every route. A shore-access account and a boat excursion can both be valid without describing the same entry. Ask whether your booking is a shallow reef dive or a deeper profile, and confirm the experience and certification needed for that plan.

How other Boracay operators describe Laguna

DiveGurus Boracay's page, read in October 2026, calls the site Laguna de Boracay and lists a starting depth of 5 metres and a maximum of 20 metres. It describes healthy hard and soft corals, sea fans and sponges, with butterflyfish, lionfish, anemonefish and parrotfish over the reef, sea cucumbers and garden eels on the sandy patches, and feather stars and sea squirts adding colour. Its SSI Scubago entry, also credited to DiveGurus, gives the same 20 metre depth, notes that sea turtles, triggerfish and clownfish are seen and that there is sometimes a decent current. Eclipse Dive Center's dive-site list says the site is named after the resort that stood in front of it, that it suits all levels including beginners, and that the operator usually goes there from June to September, Boracay's monsoon season. The Alta Vista de Boracay blog of November 2024 also gives 5 to 20 metres, says there is usually no current, and mentions clams, anemones, feather stars, stonefish, scorpionfish and sea squirts.

These 5–20 metre figures sit well below the 9–32 metre range New Wave Divers publishes; the operators are not reconciled here, and the name itself varies between Laguna, Laguna de Boracay and Laguna Reef across the sources.

Dated dive logs

New Wave's log of 19 October 2025 reports poor visibility in the first few metres that cleared once deeper, then ten minutes with a green turtle, an octopus, a very big sea krait and multiple nudibranchs on an 18 metre, 56 minute dive. Its log of 3 June 2026, written in French, describes entering on the Bolabog Beach side onto white sand and corals sloping gently to a sand band at 16 to 18 metres, with a moray eel and a turtle. Four diver reviews on scubadiving.place record maximum depths between 10 and 21 metres. The SSI Scubago page's user-generated sighting counts for green turtles cluster in June to September; that is a record of past reports, not a seasonal promise.
