About This Dive Site
LST Reef is an operator-listed coral reef dive in Subic Bay. Arizona Dive Shop marks it on its dive map, and both Scubaholics and Johan's list it as a reef near the LST wreck. The reef and wreck are treated as separate named dive sites.
Arizona's map and Scubaholics report a depth range of 5–25 m. Johan's also reports the reef reaching about 25 m. These are published dive-site reports rather than measurements verified for this guide.
LST Reef is listed separately from the Landing Ship Tank wreck. The operator-map point is approximate, not a surveyed position or confirmed entry waypoint. The relationship to nearby reef boundaries is unconfirmed; this guide does not identify LST Reef with Runway Reef, Airport Reef or Nabasan Reef.
This partial guide leaves current strength, visibility, access and mooring arrangements unconfirmed. Check the intended reef, present conditions and a suitable dive plan with a local operator. Published wildlife reports do not guarantee sightings.
What the operators describe
Scubaholics Subic's reefs page, in a Wayback Machine snapshot of 23 January 2026, places LST Reef a short distance from the stern of the LST wreck and describes many coral outcroppings. It says the reef is known for turtle sightings both above and below the surface and that it is thought to be a breeding ground for them, adding that the usual reef species are always around and that it is another good spot for macro photography. Scubaholics lists the site for Discover Scuba and Open Water divers with a depth of 5 to 25 metres. The breeding-ground remark is the operator's own belief, and turtle sightings are reported rather than guaranteed.
Johan's Beach and Dive Resort, on a dive-site page preserved in a Wayback snapshot of 10 September 2024, describes LST Reef as lying between the Runway reef and the LST and going down to about 25 metres. The same page explains that Johan's colour-codes its sites by the training level it expects, says certification by itself may not make a diver experienced enough for an individual site, and reserves the right to refuse a site it believes is beyond a diver's skill. That policy statement is Johan's, not a rule verified here.
Position relative to the wreck
Because both operators define the reef by its distance from the LST wreck, the wreck's own reported position matters. Scubaholics' ship-wrecks page, in a Wayback snapshot of 14 June 2026, says the LST lies upright on a sandy bottom between Grande Island and Cubi Point. Arizona Dive Shop's wreck-diving page, in a Wayback snapshot of 26 May 2024, says the Landing Ship Tank wreck is on the eastern side of the bay. These descriptions concern the wreck, not the reef, and they are not reconciled with the approximate operator-map point used by this guide. Treat the reef's extent and boundaries as unconfirmed.
