About This Dive Site
What the sources describe
Red Rock appears among Anilao’s sandy macro-diving sites in a first-person Crystal Blue Resort trip report published by Undercurrent in June 2026. It offers a useful lead for divers interested in looking for small subjects rather than choosing a site only for reef scenery.
The writer discusses Red Rock together with Secret Bay and Bubbles. Their combined wildlife list does not establish which animals were seen at Red Rock, and it is not a promise of present-day encounters. The report does not establish Red Rock’s exact boundaries, depth limits or current conditions.
Planning your dive
Before arranging a dive, confirm which site the operator means by Red Rock and ask about the planned profile and conditions. This partial account supports sandy terrain and a macro-diving context; it does not substantiate red-coloured walls simply from the site’s name.
Operator descriptions
Anilao Diving and Resorts' page for Red Rocks, last modified in March 2022, gives a 10 to 18 m depth range about 25 minutes by boat from its resort, most of the time no current, and visibility of 5 to 15 m. It describes a mostly sandy bottom with big boulders like those at Cathedral lying at about 18 m and says the most noticeable landmark is the coloured red wall rocks in front of the entry area. It calls the underwater attraction macro photography, lists sting rays, snappers, groupers, frog fish, nudibranchs, whip coral gobies and porcelain crabs as visitors, and describes a one-way dive that starts at the deep end of the reef and moves westward to the shallow point, watching anthias during the safety stop. Aqua-Venture's dive-site table, in a Wayback snapshot of January 2026, lists Red Rock at 18 m with slight current, one big rock as the attraction and macro lenses. Bambu Villa's depth table lists Red Rocks at 8 to 12 m. The plural and singular spellings appear on different operator pages and are treated here as the same named Anilao site without that being independently confirmed.
Listings and survey record
The Anilao Critters and Resorts dive-site map, copyright 2018, lists Red rock as number 11 of its Anilao sites, between Mainit (School) and Sombrero Island, and Lakwatsero's Anilao travel guide, published in March 2023, names Red Rock among the area's popular dive sites. REEF's report for its survey site Red Rock (Anilao), retrieved in October 2026, counts ten surveys and 304 species reported; fish recorded on every one of those surveys include the Ambon damsel, bluestreak cleaner wrasse, Clark's anemonefish, neon damsel, redtooth triggerfish and three-spot dascyllus. The operator depth figures of 8 to 12 m, 10 to 18 m and 18 m differ and are not reconciled here, and none of the pages cited here gives coordinates for the site.
