About This Dive Site

Wreck diving in Sabang Bay

Capt’n Gregg’s describes wreck remains on sand in Sabang Bay under the plural name Sabang Wrecks. Atlantis and La Laguna Beach Club use the singular Sabang Wreck in their lists.

The names support a wreck-diving location, but the captured sources do not resolve whether every operator means the same individual remains or the whole group. No additional wreck identity or alias is inferred here.

What the operator accounts describe

Action Divers describes a group of two wooden wrecks and a steel yacht on the bay’s sandy bottom. Marco Vincent’s Sabang Wreck account instead discusses wooden fishing-boat remains and a steel sailboat. These are descriptions of the remains covered by each account, not a fresh count of accessible wrecks or proof that both operators use identical boundaries.

Action reports batfish, surgeonfish, moray eels and lionfish around the wrecks, with frogfish and stargazers among possible finds. Marco Vincent also describes small coral patches and sandy-bottom subjects. The attraction described is therefore a mixture of boat remains and surrounding habitat, rather than a single intact ship.

Action’s page separately mentions seagrass at 3–6 m and reported green turtles. That shallow habitat is not evidence that the wrecks themselves begin at 3 m, nor that a wreck outing necessarily includes the seagrass. If either habitat is the reason for your visit, ask which is actually included in the proposed dive.

Different stages of deterioration

BADLADZ’s 2017 account describes two of the wrecks as largely fragmented remains, contrasting them with a third hull that was more intact at the time. It also reports scattered wooden parts around a two-engine vessel. These details explain why the site may be better understood as several structures and debris fields rather than three complete ships. The same account discusses small subjects on the surrounding sand and reports hermit crabs, squid and snake eels on night dives. These are historical descriptions; neither the condition of the remains nor the wildlife list has been checked on a recent visit.

Ask which wreck is planned

Confirm the particular wreck or group, intended depth, condition of the remains and required experience with the operator. Also establish whether the outing is an external visit. This guide does not provide penetration instructions or imply that entering a wreck is appropriate.

Depth and conditions

La Laguna Beach Club’s 18 m reference is a point depth. It does not establish the old 5–20 m range for the entire group. Current visibility, traffic, wildlife encounters and night-diving suitability need an up-to-date operator briefing.

Sand and smaller subjects in a historical account

Asia Divers' February 2020 article reports stonefish and flounder in the sandy surroundings of Sabang Wrecks, with ghost pipefish and mantis shrimps among the remains. These details add subjects to the habitat description without resolving the number or identity of individual wrecks. They are historical operator reports, not current sightings or an encounter forecast.
